It is the tidal plant of the Rance, located in the town of La Richardais, a technological feat of the 1960s and a tourist attraction, which connects Dinard and Saint-Malo.Not far from Dinard are the Channel Islands, which can be reached in one hour by high-speed ship from Saint-Malo or 15 minutes by plane from Dinard Pleurtuit Saint-Malo airport. The four main beaches of the city are the beaches of the Priory, the Lock, Saint-Enogat and Port-Blanc. Transport of Dinard

In 1901 was opened the tramway line from Dinard to Saint-Briac. It was a steam tramway line with a metric track that connected the cities of Saint-Briac and Dinard through Saint-Lunaire. It was opened between 1901 and 1902. In 1929, the line closed and was replaced by a bus service.Until 1987, the city was served directly, in season, by a Corail train Paris-Montparnasse-Dinard. This link was abolished and the station, dating from the late nineteenth century, was demolished in the 2000s. However, access to Dinard has recently been facilitated by the arrival of the TGV linking Paris to Saint-Malo station in less than three hours and offering a connection by bus. For motorists, the free expressways make up for the absence of a freeway. A maritime shuttle connects Dinard to Saint-Malo.
The city is also served by the airport of Dinard Pleurtuit Saint-Malo.

Visits and cultures

Le Mont-Saint-Michel

Mont-Saint-Michel is located in the department of Manche and the region of Basse-Normandie. It takes its name from a rocky islet dedicated to Saint Michael where the abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel stands today. The architecture of Mont-Saint-Michel and its bay make it the most visited tourist site in Normandy and the third in France (after the ÃŽle-de-France) with more than 3,000,000 visitors each year. A statue of Saint Michael placed at the top of the abbey church culminates at 170 meters above the shore. The abbey and its outbuildings are classified as historical monuments. The town and the bay have been on the UNESCO world heritage list since 1979.The bay of Mont-Saint-Michel is the scene of the highest tides in continental Europe, up to 15 meters of tidal range, the difference between low and high tides. The sea then reaches the coast "at the speed of a galloping horse", as the saying goes.

Cancale

Cancale is located at the western end of the bay of Mont Saint-Michel, on the coast of Ille-et-Vilaine (Emerald Coast), fifteen kilometers east of Saint-Malo. The bay of Cancale is bounded by the Pointe des Roches Noires to the south and the Pointe des Crolles to the north.
Cancale, which launches its moles at the end of the bay, has long been associated by lovers of good food with the taste of oysters and mussels tasty; on the spot, it is a pleasure that we extend, depending on the state of the tide, by the picturesque spectacle of a charming port or that of oyster farmers at work in the labyrinth of parks.

Dol-de-Bretagne

Dol-de-Bretagne is located halfway between Saint-Malo and the Mont-Saint-Michel, south of Cherrueix and Le Vivier-sur-Mer, municipalities on the sea shore. Rennes is 55 km to the south.
Dol-de-Bretagne is located on the edge of the cliff, about twenty meters high, that the sea still came to beat in the 10th century before the accumulation of marine deposits that allowed the construction of the coastal dyke, today part of the tourist road Pontorson-Saint-Malo.
The region of Dol-de-Bretagne has been inhabited for a long time as testified by the menhir of the Dolent field (measuring 9,30 m, it is one of the highest of Brittany) which dates from the Neolithic period and is located at the exit of the city in direction of Combourg.

Saint-Malo

Saint-Malo - with its centuries-old and often colorful past - is nonetheless firmly anchored in the 21st century as evidenced by the dynamism of its economy. Traditionally, its main activity is based on the sea, Saint-Malo is the first port of the north coast of Brittany mixing yachting, fishing, trade and international travelers.Tourism, although coming second in terms of income, is nonetheless very developed: the historic city (the intramuros) is one of the most visited in Brittany. In 2010, a survey published by the website TripAdvisor ranked it as the first favorite destination of Europeans in France. The tides of the bay of Saint-Malo are among the most important in Europe. The tour of the ramparts is undoubtedly the first tourist attraction of Saint-Malo. These ramparts encircle the entire city and can be virtually toured on the website of the Malouin tourist office.

Dinan

The city of Dinan is fortified by a belt of ramparts and was defended by an imposing castle. Strategic point for the traffic between Normandy and the north coast of Brittany, Dinan is mainly built on a hill. The city dominates 75 m the Rance which flows northward to throw itself in the Channel between Saint-Malo and Dinard. Dinan proposed for a long time the most northern bridge to cross the Rance and its wide estuary.
Nowadays, the city has largely restored its heritage. Half-timbered houses still line the Place des Cordeliers, the Rue de l'Horloge, the famous Rue du Jerzual and other cobbled streets in the center. The churches of Saint-Sauveur and Saint-Malo stand in the middle of the city's former parishes.

Erquy

Erquy is a village on the Penthièvre coast and a very active fishing port (with a fleet of about 80 trawlers). It is especially known as the capital of the scallops fished in the Bay of Saint-Brieuc.
Erquy is a very popular tourist destination in the summer and has retained its undeniable charm with its many pink sandstone houses. Nearby is the Cape of Erquy, a famous rocky promontory surrounded by moors and owned by the Côtes-d'Armor department.

Le Cap fréhel

This cape is one of the most impressive in Brittany. It is an ornithological reserve located at 8.5 km from Fréhel and 4 km from Plévenon: the cliff dominates the sea by about 70 meters. A path between the heather and the gorse goes around the cape. The old granite lighthouse (or Vauban tower) was built under Louis XIV in 1650. The current lighthouse, dating from 1950, dominates the sea from 103 meters. On a clear day, it is sometimes possible to see the Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey).

Le Fort-La-Latte

Formerly the Roche-Gouyon, the castle of Fort-La-Latte is located at the point of the same name, in front of the Fréhel Cape. It is one of the most famous Breton castles. Remarkable by its situation on a rocky cape, facing the sea, it was used as a set for many films.
